BADGER TRAIL EVENTS
"Always looking for new hills and a route to link them by"
Here at Badger Trail Events we want to send you out on a bit of an adventure in the countryside but bring you back safely.
We wanted to create good, often tough but enjoyable races accessible to all abilities.
Our routes take you up hills, through valleys, along farm tracks, over fields, over stiles, through water meadows, and along shady woodland trails.
When you run our events you can be sure that we have personally walked, run, and checked out every inch of the routes, and in the process we have discovered some amazing places to run that we wanted to share with you.
We meet with all the landowners before each race to make sure they are aware of and are happy with the event.
Both events have a Marathon distance and a Half Marathon distance.
More races are in the planning, both longer and shorter, so watch this space....
YOU CAN ENTER EITHER RACE HERE
(but please see the separate race websites for dedicated race information)
At each event we offer medals for all finishers as a memento, but we realise not everyone wants a race t-shirt so we offer the option to add to your race entry if you want.
We promise you free post race refreshment (usually tea or coffee and cake, in proper china mugs and on china plates) with Vegan and Gluten Free options.
We also promise that our events are, and always will be CUPLESS races, (what does this mean?) - it means that in order to keep waste and litter to a minimum we will NOT be providing disposable cups at the aid stations (in line with most european trail races and now many UK trail races) and so you will need to bring a re-usable, collapsible cup with you.
We aim to make our races Dog friendly (although hefting dogs over stiles may be required from time to time) but please see the race Ts & Cs for full details.
What our runners think
“Great race, loved the route, maybe next time I’ll bring a snorkel. Would definitely do this again. Highly recommended.”
“Brilliant run. Challenging, varied and with a great atmosphere. Many thanks to the organisers and marshals for a thoroughly enjoyable day.”
“The hills were steep. The mud was muddy. The water was cold and the cakes were delicious. Many thanks for a great day.”
“Well organised, value for money, great course, friendly marshals, great medal and T/ Shirt. Plus free tea and cake.”
“Thanks again for letting us run with our dogs and for the canicross prizes. The dog chocs helped Rosie forgive me for making her run through the water meadows! I loved the friendly, low-key organisation. And the cakes were fab”
“Congrats to the Badger team. That is a long technical effort to mark the course and keep everyone on the correct beaten path. Chilled atmosphere at the start and finish, aid stations rammed with essentials and amazing cupcakes at the end. Thanks.”
“Loved the Dorset Ooser Marathon today. Great marshals, generally well marked route....lovely course and the free tea and cake at the end was quality. Having a photographer at the waterlogged field would have been the icing on the cake but nevertheless great inaugural event. Thanks Badger Trail Team!!!”
